Re-Launch Status Update

An update from the galley.

So, I know we were aiming for a Spring 2010 relaunch with some added/updated features… and obviously that time frame didn’t pan out.

But, we’ve got some good news and some better news.

The good news is that we’re set for a Nov 2010 relaunch, just in time for holidays.

The better news is that we scrapped the whole “update features” agenda and kinda went to town on the site. We redesigned the entire experience from the ground up, using the feedback we got from you guys during beta.

We think you’ll like it alot, and will be posting some screenshots shortly to whet the appetite.

Thanks to everyone who have been emailing in asking for an update… it’s great to see that people are still interested in the Gamestaq concept, and we hope to once again get everyone very excited shortly.

A Long December…

Fellow ‘Staqers,

Thanks to you, our initial beta launch has been very successful and the feedback we received from you guys (and gals) has been an amazing boost.

In the next couple weeks, we’ll be leveling up the site with all the much needed features and options that the community has been requesting.

The sucky part about all this is that transactions will be off limits during this transition.

Our Blog will be fully open, and we’ll be posting regularly. So please feel free to speak your minds in the comments.

Gamestaq will be relaunching, better than ever, Spring 2010.

Keep those fingers warm playing all your holiday games… We’ll be back before you know it.

There are some websites out there that may not have all the limelight but are awesome just because the people behind the site are there having an awesome time doing something they love. Interactive Distractions is one of those sites.

They’re a bunch of guys running a blog/podcast… just chillin and talking about video games.

We all know that the Fall Season of any year brings along some nice things to look forward to… nice weather, the upcoming holidays and, of course, awesome games!

We here at Gamestaq are working hard to make sure the site is updated with the newest games as they launch, so that you guys can get to trading them from day 1.

I’ve always dreamed of this concept, but never thought it was physically or technically possible.

But, finally, some computer geniuses have come to our rescue!

Spawn Labs has pitched their idea and technology today at TechCrunch50, which will allow us to play our consoles from ANY internet connected computer! Amazing.

Beta: Site/Policy Updates

So we’ve been in beta for a few months now, and are finally getting a better handle on things… which includes listening to our user’s recommendations and complaints.

So, we are implementing some updated policies and rules to keep things moving along:

All games being sold MUST include an original manual (along with the previously required original case and box art). If a game is received without its manual, it will be returned to the user and payment will be refunded.
All buyers are now guaranteed to receive a manual with their game.
Standard Shipping for buyers is now $2.50 per game.
We were hoping to announce and launch our forums this week, but we’re still making some implementation tweaks, so we are delayed yet again.

These policies will go into effect today, Monday Sept 14th.
