An update from the galley.
So, I know we were aiming for a Spring 2010 relaunch with some added/updated features… and obviously that time frame didn’t pan out.
But, we’ve got some good news and some better news.
The good news is that we’re set for a Nov 2010 relaunch, just in time for holidays.
The better news is that we scrapped the whole “update features” agenda and kinda went to town on the site. We redesigned the entire experience from the ground up, using the feedback we got from you guys during beta.
We think you’ll like it alot, and will be posting some screenshots shortly to whet the appetite.
Thanks to everyone who have been emailing in asking for an update… it’s great to see that people are still interested in the Gamestaq concept, and we hope to once again get everyone very excited shortly.

We all know that the Fall Season of any year brings along some nice things to look forward to… nice weather, the upcoming holidays and, of course, awesome games!
We here at Gamestaq are working hard to make sure the site is updated with the newest games as they launch, so that you guys can get to trading them from day 1.

So we’ve been in beta for a few months now, and are finally getting a better handle on things… which includes listening to our user’s recommendations and <clears throat> complaints.
So, we are implementing some updated policies and rules to keep things moving along:
- All games being sold MUST include an original manual (along with the previously required original case and box art). If a game is received without its manual, it will be returned to the user and payment will be refunded.
- All buyers are now guaranteed to receive a manual with their game.
- Standard Shipping for buyers is now $2.50 per game.
- We were hoping to announce and launch our forums this week, but we’re still making some implementation tweaks, so we are delayed yet again.
These policies will go into effect today, Monday Sept 14th.

We also added a new feature called “Microreviews“.
On any game page you can scroll down towards the bottom and rate/review that game in 100 words or less.
We love this feature for 2 reasons:
- Its a quick and dirty way to get down what you think about a game, without the pressure or expectation of writing a full review.
- Who the heck has the patience to read a whole freakin review anymore?
